STATEMENT OF PURPOSE FOR I Care Ministry

“Bethesda” means “House of Mercy.” This ministry exists to extend the mercy of God in practical ways to those in need.

Purpose:

The I CARE MINISTRY of Bethesda Community Church exists to be a living expression of God’s compassion by providing temporary assistance to individuals and families experiencing hardship. Through loving service, prayerful discernment, and financial stewardship, we seek to meet real needs while pointing people to Christ, our ultimate source of hope.

Foundation Scriptures

 Matthew 25:40 NLT “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the

least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’”

 Galatians 6:10 – “Let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the

family of believers.”

 Isaiah 58:10 – “If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs

of the oppressed, your light will rise in the darkness…”

 Proverbs 19:17 (NLT) — “If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord— and he will

repay you!”
